Addiction Recovery Groups

There are already a few Addition Recovery groups meeting regularly throughout the stake, but a new group is forming for sisters only, starting Sunday, September 27, 7:30 PM, at the Stake Center.

If you, or someone you love, is struggling with addiction, please consider attending, and know that there is hope. There are few families whose lives have not been touched in some way by a loved one's addiction.

Although the Twelve steps of AA have been adapted by the Church for use in these group meetings (building on gospel principles), this is not like AA where you are expected to say "My name is _____ and I am an alcoholic."

There is complete confidentiality. You will not be asked to disclose the nature of your, or your loved-one's, addiction.

Common addictions are: alcohol, drugs (both prescription and illegal), tobacco, coffee and tea, pornography, inappropriate sexual behavior, gambling, codependency, and eating disorders.
