Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Thank you for taking the time to visit our stake’s new service-based Web site. We hope this page will help you learn more about how you can make a difference in our wards, branches and communities. The site will also give you an opportunity to anonymously request service.
President Monson has said: “We are surrounded by those in need of our attention, our encouragement, our support, our comfort, our kindness – be they family members, friends, acquaintances, or strangers. We are the Lord’s hands here upon the earth, with the mandate to serve and to lift His children. He is dependent upon each of us. You may lament: I can barely make it through each day, doing all that I need to do. How can I provide service for others? What can I possibly do?”
As an answer to our Prophet’s question, to the left is a list of what you can do. We invite you to sign up for at least one of the listed service opportunities. Simply click on the name of a program you’d like more information about and you’ll be directed to a separate page where you can choose to participate. In some cases there will be an immediate need for your help. In other cases, an opportunity may not be available for some time. No matter the timing of your service, we testify that, in helping others, your talents will be magnified and your lives will be blessed.
If you’re in need of service, click the “Service Request” tab and let us know how our stake can help you. Remember that in requesting service, you’ll be providing opportunities for others to grow spiritually and receive blessings.
We encourage you to consider the words of King Benjamin and embrace this message: “And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”
If you have questions about our service initiative, please don’t hesitate to ask.
With love and appreciation,
VF Stake Presidency
